Objective To evaluate the effect of a monitoring and intervention program based on wearable sensors and artificial intelligence (AI) on the quality of good limb position placement in hemiplegic patients with traumatic brain injury, so as to provide a reference for intelligent rehabilitation nursing. Methods A total of 120 hemiplegic patients with traumatic brain injury admitted to a hospital from August 2023 to August 2024 were enrolled by the convenience sampling method and randomly divided into observation group and control group using a random number table method, with 60 cases in each group. The control group received routine nursing of good limb position placement, while the observation group was additionally given monitoring and intervention program based on wearable sensors and AI. The qualified rates of good limb position placement on days 1,7,14,and 28 and the incidence of complications within 4 weeks, as well as the frequency of nurses' active position verification were compared between the two groups. Results There was a significant interaction effect between group and time on the qualified rate of good limb position placement (F=15.83,P<0.01). The qualified rates in the observation group were significantly higher than those in the control group on days 7,14,and 28(all P<0.01).The incidences of shoulder subluxation and hand swelling, as well as the frequency of nurses' active position verification, were significantly lower in the observation group than in the control group (all P<0.05). Conclusions The monitoring and intervention program based on wearable sensors and AI can improve the compliance rate of good limb position placement, reduce related complications, and decrease the workload of repeated nursing verification.
